Still so obsessed, cabbage is life ♥️ Recipe Mild Italian sausage (as much as you want) 1/2 head of cabbage chopped or shredded 1 medium yellow onion diced 1 1/2 tsp minced garlic Salt & pepper to taste Extra virgin olive oil. Back to my lovely videos, now that I’m back from a lovely holiday, after a...well, not ‘lovely’ fight. But a fight, anyway 😄 As promised, here’s how I like to progress clients on dips, as ably demonstrated by @violetraven_uk ! I used to have people facing away from the pillar, with their feet wrapped around to give a bit of assistance, but on bars this shape, I find your hands are in a more natural position facing it. Hook a band of your chosen resistance around both bars, climb or jump on with both your knees in, and there you go - an easily scaleable amount of help on a challenging exercise. I tend to start clients on the green band, and progress to the purple when they can do sets of 6. Once they can do sets of 6 on the purple, full bodyweight is usually possible. ❄️ THE WINTER MONTHS ❄️ — It's that time of the year again where the idea of training/keeping active and eating somewhat kinda "right" still is hard to entertain* — 👉🏼 Motivation to exercise/move will drop considerably. — 👉🏼 There seems to be an abundance of social occasions to juggle. — 👉🏼 We arguably become less active due to our mornings/evenings being darker/colder. — With that being said, this time of the year doesn't mean that we have to go into hibernation and stop being proactive altogether* — I get that training and eating in a certain manner over these next few months won't always be as easy to put your hand to however there are some basic changes/shifts in mentality that you can still make that will at least keep the wheels turning* — 1️⃣ FIND YOURSELF A TRAINING PARTNER - Just like Yas and Georgia (as shown), training alongside someone adds more motivation for your workouts thus increasing the chances of wanting to lift. — 2️⃣ REDUCE YOUR EXPECTATIONS - don't set the bar too high and expect that you can still deliver at the same rate as you did before things started to get a little more challenging. — 3️⃣ BE ACCOUNTABLE TO SOMEONE - seeking the help and support of a coach, will add more experience on how to carry out your food/exercise and help you deal with times which are more of a struggle to find your mojo. — 4️⃣ FINISHERS - if your day-to-day activity drops (i.e. stop running on an evening or walking on your lunch), look at finishing your sessions with a little 15-20min routine to help get that expenditure up. — 5️⃣ CHANGE YOUR SCHEDULE - if your current routine of when you train/exercise is more of a task now, look at going back to the drawing board and reassessing what other alternatives/training times may work instead. —

Staying the course - Context Following on from yesterday's post. Many saw the post and a lot took positives from it. Some saw the post at the right time and that's a win. Taking positivity from the progress of others. While many will take positives from the post, there will be some that feel, even though they tried really hard at previous diets or weight-loss regimes, they still couldn't keep it up. This is not uncommon and if this is you, there is a reason behind why so many yo-yo in and out of different plans and challenges. Staying the course is easier said than done, right? It's easy for me to just fire out this phrase will little regard for people's efforts? Far from it. I know the efforts that go into following various regimes, and I know why people struggle to continue with these said regimes. It's not from a lack of will or commitment. It's more to do with the regime being too restrictive or complicated to continue fitting with people's schedules. Here's a little secret. Lucy, the lady in my post, didn't count calories or weigh food EVER in the process of her taking back control of her body. She ate, or had the freedom to eat pizza every week. That was a nonnegotiable from the start. It was arguably this freedom that allowed her to continue when weeks weren't as good as others. Ironically, I also have a client that I have solely utilized specific calorie amounts and specific macro splits. His numbers are in the attached photo. I have added weeks 6 AND 7 so you can see that numbers can fluctuate, due to a number of reasons. Don't panic, stay the course and the needle will move. We are now moving the needle in a slightly different direction so maintenance is key before increasing numbers in the right places. This is where I need to add. While we had some conversations around better options for foods, nothing was off the table. They both have the opportunity to eat whatever they want. We just developed habits that aligned with their lifestyle goals. Restricted diets, removal of certain food groups and weighing and measuring can and do have great results. But, they are not always healthy. Stay the course, but the right course

It's been just over a week since I became human sashimi and though im faaaaar less mobile than this photo (taken by the gorgeous and talented @photo_karizza with makeup by the gorgeous and talented @timmackaybeauty) I’m well on the road to recovery 😊😊😊 Thank you for all your well wishes and positive thoughts! I’m currently covered in maxi pads (YES MAXI PADS Y'ALL) protecting diagonal stitches under both of my armpits, covering incision wounds on my flanks and a cool scar running hip to hip. Back to work next week, but out of the gym until 2020. Last night at group brought another complete shock but a massive achievement for me. I had 5.5lb loss in week 2, bringing my total loss so far up to 1 stone 1lb! I also managed to bag the slimmer of the week! I can’t even find the words to begin to explain how happy I am right now and the pride I feel. I never thought in a million years trying to lose weight would be this much fun! I love finding new foods I can actually enjoy without overindulging and I’m learning more and more everyday about how slimming world works. I just find it so amazing how much I can actually eat and still get results like this!

Today's workout was fantastic! I was super excited to try out something different using what I've learned this week in my CPT course. So, here it is. A verticalcircuit that incorporated some #resistancetraining and stabilization exercises. I repeated the circuit 3 times with 30 seconds in between each exercise. During this workout I really focused on slow and steady movements that targeted the right muscle groups. So, even though I would normally consider something like this to be 'easy' for me, I was a sweaty mess afterward! . . . Doesn’t look like the most appetising thing in the world but I really enjoyed this syn free lunch during my second week! I just fried off some chicken and mushrooms in a pan with some fry light and popped that on top of some lettuce and cucumber. (I really wish my salads were more exciting but I don’t really like things like fresh tomatoes, onions and stuff like that!) Just drizzled some balsamic vinegar over the top and tucked in!

Being Italian, I actually couldn’t live without pasta! I made this syn free chicken and prawn tomato pasta using tinned tomatoes, garlic, oregano and chilli flakes and mixing with some spinach and mushrooms (I promise they’re buried in there somewhere!) I added some asparagus and green beans on the side for some extra speed and some grated parmesan to top it all off using my HEXA!

After completing my first week, I received my first milestone certificate. When I stood on the scales and the lovely lady behind the desk looked back at me with wide eyes and I just thought ‘fuck sake, all that hard work and I’ve gained weight!’. To my surprise she said ‘well you’ve definitely stuck to your plan this week, 9.5lbs off, that’s amazing!’ I couldn’t stop crying but behind my tears was the biggest smile you could imagine. All these years of thinking slimming world would never work for me and here I was over half a stone lighter in one week! Seeing that made me the most determined I have ever been to continue on this journey! 💫

During my first week, I tried out a couple of the Iceland SW ready meals just to help me get started on what kind of foods I should be eating and the kind of flavours I liked the most so I could expand my options from there. This meal was by far my favourite. Completely syn free and tasted amazing, especially for a frozen meal! I paired the meal with some broccoli and green beans for some speed. The portion looks a little small here but that’s because it was only half of one portion. Me and my boyfriend were tired and I couldn’t be bothered to make him a separate dinner, so we just shared!

So I signed up to slimming world on the 30th October 2019 and after only 2 weeks, I can already tell it’s the best thing I have ever done in terms of my weight and health. I’ve created this page to help keep me on plan, discover new recipes from other accounts I’ll follow and just kind of keep an online diary for myself and track my achievements and milestones! I cannot wait to see where this slimming world journey takes me and I hope you all enjoy the ride 💫
