Very often, we want results and we want them NOW. ~ Remembering back to one of my posts a month or two ago about getting to B from starting point A...you have to be interested in/invested in/take pleasure in/be committed to the process required to get there. ~ Cue sisters @donnamarie1995 and @thekeenqueen, who’ve been laying down solid foundations in their lifting form for several months now, and who are now experiencing the fruits of their labour 💖 ~ These are their first barbell deadlifts - good form and very respectable weight 💪🏽 ~ And because we’ve taken our time, put ego aside and focused on improving their confidence and enjoyment of gym sessions, transition to this sometimes ‘intimidating’ movement was easy as pie 😌 ~ Take your time, build your strength incrementally, celebrate the victories along the way and most importantly, have fun doing it ✨ ~ #limitlesspotentialforeverybody

Hi, I’m Paige, and this is my body 👋🏼 . It’s not ripped. It’s not lean. But it’s me. 🤷🏼‍♀️ . This is what I look like when I actually eat enough food to feel satiated. When I can go out to eat and actually order what I want. When I say yes to a happy hour drink or a spontaneous dessert. . And I'm HEALTHY. . I used to be so TERRIFIED of gaining weight - either fat OR muscle - and so my progress was SLOW. I’d go to the gym and have some good workouts, but I definitely was NOT eating enough. I told myself I was, but I really wasn’t. I forced myself to wait until mealtimes to eat. I went to bed hungry. I still counted calories in my head. So my lifts suffered, and I wasn’t really making progress. . But lately I’ve been telling myself to CHILL THE F OUT 💁🏼‍♀️ . And when I started actually eating enough (and sometimes even more than enough) to fuel my body, something amazing happened. I ACTUALLY FEEL HEALTHY 👏🏼 . I’m lifting more than ever before and enjoying FOOD more than ever before -- and that makes me feel like a freaking badass 😎 . So I may not have the washboard abs I used to have, but I benched 125lbs last week 💪🏼 And I’m proud of that 💕 . Because honestly, what my body looks like is the least important thing about me 👏🏼 . Mental Health in Diet and Nutrition --- It's an underrepresented discussion on social media platforms and we should be discussing it more openly. --- Top of the long list of reasons we only offer programs tailored to the individual is that some people are not suited to certain types of diet intervention. --- The language used in some 'diets' are problematic for the way in which people look at food. 'Good', 'Bad', 'Clean' or 'Dirty' are moralistic and emotionally charged words, that should not be used to talk about the nutrients put into our body. --- 1) Be patient, as with everything else getting a handle on your nutrition can take time. Set yourself goals that don't relate to scale weight or size. Come up with habit-based targets and give your self-time. --- 2) Don't ever compare your progress or rate of progress to someone else, especially on social media! You are you! You have different variables and you are building differently at a biomechanical level. --- 3) Don't punish yourself! Binge eating disorder is the fasting growing eating disorder in the UK. The act of overeating followed by over restriction can lead to a dangerous cycle that can have long term implications on your health. --- 4) Equally, try not to reward your self for making 'good' food choices. Again this is a problematic way to look food. If you really want a biscuit to get a dam biscuit. If you spend your life trying to 'earn' food it's a sure-fire way to develop a poor relationship with food and some disordered eating. --- 5) Don't talk or think in terms of good and bad foods. Food is food. Again try to think about habits you would like to have and ones you would like to reduce or eliminate. This is such an uncomfortable pill to swallow but it’s the truth... ✮ While you make excuse after excuse as to why you can’t exercise, eat healthy, stay consistent - there’s someone else out there who’s pushing past the little gremlins in their head (yes we all have them) and getting closer and closer to their goals. ✮ Yes, some people do have more commitments than others; children, a second job, studying etc but there are 168 hours in a week. Most people work around 40 hours per week, and sleep around 8hours per night. That leaves 72 hours... You can absolutely allocate some of that time to bettering yourself. ✮ Make the gym/exercise your “me time” to zone out. It’s actually so therapeutic & will do wonders for both your physical and mental health. ✮ It’s so easy to talk yourself out of doing things that seem like hard work, but next time those little gremlins pop up I would check your phone screen time and see how many hours you spend scrolling per day/week, and think about how many hours per night you spend watching your favourite show. ✮ The time is going to pass anyway. While missing a session doesn’t seem like the end of the world at the time, it adds up. When it gets to summer time 👙 & you’re not feeling yourself - you’ll kick yourself thinking about how all of those hours lost could have been used so much more productively. ✮ Always think - “is this getting me closer to where I want to be?” & “what would my future self thank me for right now?” ✮ Don’t stand in your own way to achieving your goals ♡ ✮ #realtalk #motivation #fitnessmotivation

I was lured in when I saw sticky date and honey instantly assuming this was some kind of cheesecake dessert bar. 60 MINUTEN ⏰ ⠀ Wie fast alle normalen Menschen arbeite ich täglich zwischen 8 und 10h und stecke mindestens eine Stunde in irgendeinem Verkehr fest. Berufsbedingt bin ich auch mal Abends, über mehrere Tage oder an Wochenenden unterwegs 👩🏻‍💻👩🏻‍💼 Ebenfalls wie alle, führe ich einen Haushalt mit Wäsche, einkaufen, kochen, putzen und allem drum und dran und ich habe einen Hund der 4 mal am Tag raus muss 🐕 Ich gebe Abends hin und wieder Fitness-Trainings und am Wochenende backe ich aufwendige Kuchen für Freunde und Verwandte 🗣🍰 Dazwischen treffe ich mich mit Freunden, besuche meine Eltern und erledige Dinge, wie sie jeder erledigen muss. Achja, schlafen muss man ja auch noch 🧐 ⠀ Jammere ich? NEIN 😉 Hab’s mir ja selbst ausgesucht! Jammern andere? JA! 😒 Denn wenn ich dann noch trainieren gehe, kommt schnell der Satz “Anina, du hast nie Zeit” oder “Ach, gibt’s dich auch noch?” oder “Du kannst ja mal ne Ausnahme machen” und ehrlich: ICH HASSE ES das hören zu müssen🖕🏽🖕🏼🖕🏾 ⠀ Ich hab eine große Familie, Patenkinder, viele enge Freunde und einen Partner, der genau das gleiche nochmal hat. Was glaubt ihr wie oft ich alle sehe? Klar könnte ich den Sport ausfallen lassen und natürlich mache ich Ausnahmen ABER von Ausnahmen wird niemand besser 🤦🏽‍♀️ ⠀ Und so viel ich von A nach B renne, die eine Stunde am Tag sollte doch wohl drin sein: 60 Minuten Crossfit, Laufen oder irgendeine andere Aktivität ♥️😍♥️ Mir ganz egal aber es macht mich glücklicher als schlafen, essen oder auf der Couch liegen und es wird immer eine Priorität sein! Excepting my ‘bulking’ body has been hard... seeing my body change from so lean and toned to rounded and soft feels like you’re going against everything. Road to 170kg Deadlift.... I haven't posted on this for a while and had to back off of my training a little due to some back and shoulder issues. But am back on it now with the Powerlifting meet this morning giving me an opportunity to assess where I am at. Only got footage for my top Squat and Deadlift attempts but am happy with a 110kg squat, 90kg Bench and a 150kg Deadlift. 170kg Deadlift is within site now so will aim to hit it at our next meet in a couple of months time.
