I get asked a lot to fix clicking noises in the body, but what do we do about it? The short answer.... nothing. This sound is called crepitus and it is the sound of tendons or cartilage/bony structures rubbing against each other or small little air pockets being released. It doesn’t mean there’s something wrong and it doesn’t mean it needs to be fixed. Rule of thumb, if it doesn’t hurt or cause discomfort ... it likely doesn’t need any treatment. Can we look for dysfunction and make improvements in range or function of that area? Absolutely, but don’t fear the little pops and crackles your body makes. CORE TRAINING (Pallof Press) Our core consists of various muscles that run around our lower back, glutes, hips and abdomen. Having a strong core enables us to stabilise our body when faced with different challenges and can prevent us from developing injuries. • This exercise will assist in developing ANTI ROTATION. Through the use of the band your core will be resisting the force that is trying to cause you to rotate/twist. • With this exercise it is important that you contract your posterior chain and core to ensure you are stable when moving the band back and forward. • You want your body to remain as still as possible. Take your time with each movement! Aim for 2-3 sets of 10-15 reps facing both ways to ensure you work the left and right side of your body equally. How FST can help with shoulder injuries 👍🏻 • One of the most common shoulder problem that could lead to shoulder injury is "shoulder impingement". Shoulder impingement is a term described for shoulder pain and/or shoulder decreased range of motion. There is 45-65% of people who complain to their physicians about this issue. Impingement or compression of the tissues of the shoulder is a normal occurrence; however, pain from this compression is not. Shoulder impingement pain or decreased range of motion is attributed to poor exercise technique, poor dynamic postures and pattern overload. This is worsened if you train with high volumes of repeated bad shoulder movement patterns • Causes of shoulder impingement: 1. Unbalanced muscular tension-length relationships at the shoulders 2. Lack of thoracic mobility 3. lack of scapular mobility and stability 4. Injury 5. Tightness of the soft tissue around the shoulder joint • How FST can help: 1. It improves shoulder function by increasing range of motion for flexion, internal rotation, and external rotation. When the joint is able to function and centrated , there shouldn't be any compensations or repercussions. Your shoulder should be able to do shoulder shit. FST helps with that. 2. It releases stiffness/tightness at both shoulder joints, thoracic area, and your scapulas which allows for better symmetrical movement and rhythm doing shoulder movements. This is VERY important because sometimes one shoulder/arm can be stiffer than the other that you can't move your shoulders evenly. An example would be uneven extention/lockout or leaning towards one side to compensate doing an overhead movement. 3. It promotes faster recovery from releasing tissue tightness and decompressing joints which allows for more blood flow with the increased space. More blood being able to access into previously compressed areas allows better transport of nutrients that help heal the injury/pain • From my experience with helping clients with their shoulder impingement and injuries, FST helps tremendously because it enables or restores proper shoulder function. When your shoulder is working properly, then you won’t get shoulder issues

That’s why it’s the first area to slouch forward due to bad posture. -- 💥Lack of mobility here results in issues upstream and downstream of the thoracic area. It can cause shoulder, head, and neck problems along with lower back pain. -- ✅Shown here are some thoracic mobilizers I love to use against a wall to restore strength and flexibility to the area.
