This year was the first time since I moved to America that my mom couldn't send me Eid joras from Pakistan. With so few occasions to wear fancy desi wear in New York City, I look forward to getting dressed up at Eid all year long. But then nothing about this Eid was regular, was it?
Eid tradition says that one should wear new clothes for the occasion. I didn't have any new lehngas, shalwar kameez or saris, but I did have a haul of new Spring dresses that were quietly hanging in my closet, waiting for quarantine to be over. So I decided to wear one for Eid this year.
I chose this satin dress by @johannaortizofficial for @hm, because its rich saffron yellow hue reminded me of home. I paired it with my favorite @minzakhan earrings, because it just doesn't feel like Eid if I'm not wearing jhumkas.
Day 1: Done. Now I just need to learn how to make firni pudding to match.
