We earn the right to be heard by sincerely listening to others. Everyone has a story and something to say. You can’t just blunder into a situation and callously share without listening. The Bible says that Jesus was a friend of sinners. This is our ultimate example — to be a friend, to listen to people, see where they are, and then we can take them where they need to go by lovingly sharing the Gospel with them. #gcspodcast #gcstips #gcstraining

HOW TO SHARE THE GOSPEL? Keep it simple, because the Gospel is already simple. Jesus Christ (the Son of God) died for our sins. He was buried. He rose again. We need to put our faith in Him, turn away from the things that are wrong in our lives, and daily surrender our lives to Him. Don’t complicate it. So many times we throw in things like our denomination or other doctrines or we use religious terms that a lot of people don’t understand. We end up confusing them and creating barriers. Explain the Gospel in a way that people can understand. #gcspodcast #gcstips #gcstraining

WILL YOU SHARE THE GOSPEL TODAY? Even if they don’t know it, remember that people are looking for a cure. When you go to the doctor, you don’t describe your condition. Instead, you describe your symptoms. That’s how most people live - they only see symptoms. So how do we share Christ with someone who is overwhelmed with their symptoms? We know the ultimate cure is Jesus Christ. He didn’t die for their symptoms, He died for their sins. Yet, people don’t wake up in the morning and think, “You know, I need to accept Jesus.” They wake up with the symptoms, and so as people who are attempting to rescue those who are lost, we need to start with their symptoms, show them their condition (sin), and take them to the ultimate cure (Jesus). #gcspodcast #gcstips #gcstraining

Here's a safe and creative way for you to share the Gospel with people during the COVID-19 pandemic by sketching out the Gospel on your plastic glove, using the 3 Circles method. Remember to maintain a distance of 2 metres, and for people's peace of mind you could wear a face mask 😷 #gcstips #gcstraining

Useful conversation starter during COVID-19 when you’re in a supermarket queue: “...Strange times these!...It’s pretty unbelievable how the Coronavirus has changed everything....(Ask for their name)Have you been badly affected?....Do you ever wonder why God allows things like this to happen?...” Listen patiently to what they have to say, and then in a couple of minutes share the hope of the Gospel with them and offer to pray for them. You could start by saying something like this: “...A Bible verse that has always given me a lot of hope is the one that says ‘...God so loved the world that He gave His only Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life’...With all the huge mess that us humans make in life, I am so moved that God still loves us, and that He proved His love by sending Jesus to die on a cross in our place, to pay the price for our mess. I am blown away that Jesus came back to life, as that shows to me how He is able to overcome disease and death!...I often struggle to see why people find it hard to turn to Him in faith. All we have to do is say sorry to Him for our wrongdoing, and start living our lives for Him...I did that 28 years ago and never looked back - and it is my faith today that is getting me through this COVID-19 pandemic, and it is my faith that will get me through the next crisis that blows my way!!!...How about you, my friend - do you believe in God? Can I pray for you today?”... See where this type of conversation leads you, and be ready to adapt. I spoke to 4 people in a supermarket queue the other day, and all 4 people were happy to talk to me. I was able to pray for 3 of them, and 1 of them wanted to put their faith in Christ! Why don’t you give it a go and have a Gospel conversations! God bless you and keep on keeping on... #gcstips #gcstraining

EPISODE #27 🎧 OUT NOW “RESCUE PLAN” How do we explain the gospel to children in a way they can understand? How do we explain their need for a Saviour without watering down the details? How can we hold their attention long enough to explain what the Bible is all about? How can we be accurate yet sensitive to the fact that they need simpler explanations? Today’s presentation is broken down into 10 parts, and starts with the creation of the universe, and explains key biblical concepts: Who is God? What is God like? What is sin? Where did evil come from? Why do we need a Saviour? This presentation concludes with a clear explanation of the identity of Jesus and his amazing provision as our Saviour. The graphic details surrounding the story of salvation are handled sensitively but not watered down. At the end, children will have an explanation of who God is and what he did for mankind on the cross. It is a message of hope every child should hear. HOW HAVE YOU SHARED THE GOSPEL TODAY? If you’re stuck for ideas, then consider going out for a walk once a day! Spark a meaningful interaction with someone you’ve never met before. Keeping a safe distance (2 metres), you can talk to strangers that you pass by. People are feeling the pain of isolation right now, and will be glad for the conversation. Start with a smile and say “Hello!” You can ask them “How are you today?” “How has COVID-19 affected you most?” Listen to them, and learn about their lives. Most people will appreciate genuine care and concern shared through conversation. Ask them “What is helping you get through this crisis?” At the right moment you can tell them how your personal faith is getting you through this time. In a gentle and loving way, you can weave the Gospel into the conversation. Ephesians 6:19 “Pray also for me, that whenever I speak, words may be given me so that I will fearlessly make known the mystery of the gospel.” #gcspodcast #gcstips #gcstraining

🎧 EPISODE #26 OUT NOW CROSS CULTURAL EVANGELISM The world has 195 countries with thousands of ethnic sub-groups, that bring both challenges and opportunities for evangelism. What key questions should we be asking when considering cross-cultural evangelism? In the past it was only Christian missionaries going overseas to preach the gospel who had to understand cross-cultural evangelism, but today most of us do not have to go that far to encounter other cultures. While the Christian message does not change, the methodology for evangelism must change from culture to culture in order for the message to be clearly communicated. This raises some important questions. Can we do evangelism without understanding the culture, and what do we need to understand about a person’s cultural background to communicate the Gospel with them in a meaningful and relevant way? Let’s join Tony as he examines the way cultural background impacts our understanding of the Gospel and shares how we can cut through all manner of cultural and religious barriers. HOW HAVE YOU SHARED THE GOSPEL TODAY? If you’re stuck for ideas, then consider reaching out to a lost friend. Send them a message to ask how they’re doing and how you might pray for them during this uncertain time. This is a perfect time to break the ice with non-Christian friends you’ve not spoken with in a while. Set up times to catch up through Zoom or some other way you can see them face to face. Listen well. Short and simple is best. I’ve never met anyone who was offended by an offer for prayer. Most people appreciate genuine care and concern. You can share the Gospel with them through conversation, or send them a link to view a clear presentation in their own time. #gcspodcast #gcstips #gcstraining

GOOD FRIDAY 🎧 GCS PODCAST Good Friday message in the face of COVID-19 For the first time in our lives, churches around the world will be celebrating Easter this weekend by not gathering together. It’s a tragic picture of these sad and scary days. Yet it’s similar in several ways to what happened on the very first Easter. The scientific community is racing to find a COVID-19 vaccine to give a vague promise to humanity of immortality based upon chemical changes and formulas, but until science can find a solution for the problem of sin, it will not find a solution for the problem of death. Is there any hope for us today? Did Jesus rise from the dead? Does it really matter if Jesus was raised from the dead or not? What evidence is there and why is the resurrection so important? Let's join Tony as he examines the compelling evidence for the resurrection and explains why it is relevant for us today. 🎧 You can listen to more episodes right here by clicking on the BIO-Link to listen... GCS PODCAST NEW EPISODE S1: E21: P2 “A Run on the Roman Road”, Part 2 In many places the Bible describes the fate of the unsaved in terrible, fearful terms. Yet, when we speak to others about what it means to be a Christian, our tendency is to shy away from mentioning what the Gospel compels us to accept as truth. Laws protect our general safety and ensure our rights as citizens against abuses. While some laws might give us pause, most people understand and uphold laws, and would have no hesitation speaking about them. Some Christians feel that using the Law in evangelism can be harsh and unloving – but is it right to feel that way? Is there a way to speak to the lost in a friendly way that’s non-intimidating, to reason with people by addressing the conscience, rather than addressing the intellect – a place of contention. Let's join Tony as he shares the conclusion of his message entitled “A Run on the Roman Road”. 🎧 You can listen to more episodes right here by clicking on the BIO-Link to listen... NEW EPISODE 🎧 OUT NOW [Season 1: Episode 19] A NOBODY WITH CONSEQUENCES Every Christian is called by God to a specific purpose. But, what does it mean to be “called”? In a sense, as Christians we are all called to Christ, to follow and obey Him. He made that clear when He said to His disciples, “If anyone would come after me, he must deny himself, take up his cross and follow me in Luke 9:23. The call to Jesus Himself is the ultimate call on our lives, but what does that mean? Do you ever feel that your lifestyle gets in the way of your calling, and what work needs to be done in your life to make sure you are the person He wants you to be. Let's join Tony as he presents a message on setting aside uncertainty, embarrassment and acting in obedience and conviction. 🎧 Click BIO-Link to listen...
