🌪 Overwhelm 🌪⠀ ⠀ Good Morning you awesome lot!⠀ ⠀ This is a word that pops into my mind a lot. Mainly because I feel it a lot. Which I’m sure you’ll know if you’ve followed me a while 😬😁 ⠀ ⠀ Living in your 20s is so much fun but also full of the uncertain enough, without Covid happening⠀ ⠀ Some days I’m so full of overwhelm that I get crazy irritable & even upset.⠀ ⠀ So, thought I’d share some things I do to deal with this feeling, incase it helps others 🤗⠀ ⠀ 🌪 Sit with it⠀ ⠀ There’s usually a reason for the feeling and once you acknowledge it, you can start to find ways to cope & reduce it.⠀ ⠀ 🌪 Make lists and prioritise⠀ ⠀ I’m slowly learning to love being organised & using lists as a way to sort my shit out. Everything from what work to do that day, scheduling in a workout & meal times, even if a rough time, really helps me stay on track & get things done without my head spinning around in frustration. A traffic light system to prioritise helps work out what needs to be done first (suggestion credit to @daniwood1993). Sometimes I plan to do too much in a day, or don’t plan well & hardly get anything done but it’s helped me to realise some days naturally will be more productive than others. Sunday is generally my planning day🤓.⠀ ⠀ 🌪 Have a quick shower⠀ ⠀ Or even just wash your face. Splash it with cold water, or exfoliate & do a bit of skin care, it’s up to you! Showers are the best. And I’m all for saving water where we can but this for me has been a great way to shake off that feeling & feel good. Who doesn’t love feeling clean & refreshed.⠀ ⠀ 🌪 Plan meals ahead ⠀ ⠀ Saves time & thinking about it. I love cooking & prepping my lunch on a Sunday ready for the week ahead, well 4 days anyway. Even if I eat it at home, which is most of the time. It’s one less thing to have to consider & have on your mind. Have you heard that some successful people wear the same thing every day? It makes sense doesn’t it! One less choice & thing to use up brain power on. ⠀ ⠀ Just a few ideas that help me personally. I think It’s good to talk about what we struggle with, especially if it’s makes others feel better too.⠀ ⠀ Have a happy & safe Monday guys⠀ ❤️❤️❤
