Hi everyone! Admittedly I've been a bit absent lately. These pics are to catch you guys up a bit. I've been thinking of how to keep posting. I'm no longer keto and most of my posts have been around that. But the main point of this insta is that it highlights my slow path to fitness, while having PCOS. It’s Memorial Day, my power is out, and I’m sitting here feeling conflicted, burnt out, yet optimistic about 2020 being a big year of change for me. My biggest goals still remain to be losing weight, finding love, and moving to a city. (There are plenty of smaller, specific goals that fall under those 3 umbrellas.) These 10 or so weeks I’ve spent at home have been teaching me a lot about who I am and what I strive to be. I definitely enjoy sharing my journeys but while we are in a global pandemic, I often times feel it’s in poor taste to discuss. Also due to experience, diet talk can be triggering, a lot of people don’t want to hear about the single life, and discussing careers can result in losing your job. If these goals aren’t achieved in 2020, I feel confidently that 2021 will shine brighter for almost all of us. Maintenance life... ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ My maintenance looks like:⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ - no tracking⁣⁣ - eating anything I feel like within moderation/reason⁣⁣ -hitting at least 1.8 x BW in protein intake⁣⁣ - training 4 - 5 weight sessions per week (2-3 lower, 1-2 upper) ⁣⁣ - 1-2 yoga/stretch/mobility sessions⁣⁣ - average 12k steps⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ I’ve been able to maintain with 600g stable body weight (3kg higher than when I stopped prepping for my last show). ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ I get asked a lot ‘how do you stay lean year round without a big fluctuation in your body weight/fat %?’⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ My answer is: ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ A: I’ve learnt to guesstimate/eye ball the macro values of the foods I consume from tediously tracking my food in prep for the 6 shows I’ve competed in. You have to track first to be able to eat ‘intuitively’ or I like to refer to it as ‘educated guestimation’. Put the hard yards in (tracking all your food for a decent period of time) to then reap the reward (life long tool of knowing the nutrient values of the foods you eat to maintain a healthy weight range and body aesthetic). ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ B: Genetics 🧬 ⁣⁣ This is a major factor in how much muscle we can retain and the amount of body fat we hold (and where we store it). ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ I inherited my dads genes when it comes to my physique. Meso/ecto body type. I look at a weight and my muscle tissue grows and can also get stage lean without any negative impact on my hormones. Never lost my period for a show.⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ C: being moderate and consistent with my thoughts and habits. Jeff Olsens ‘the slight edge’ talks about creating daily habits and those habits create the edge between the old and the new you.⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ Whatever you want to achieve you need to take consistent steps daily towards that goal. Train and eat well (I still factor 🍫 daily too).⁣ ⁣⁣ Which brings me to my last point⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ D: I DON’T HAVE FOOD GUILT! ⁣⁣ I used to and tried all the stupid shit to manage my weight; low carb, no carb, fasting only to binge, partying was effective too until I stopped and blew out in my 20’s 😂🤦‍♀️⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ Once you can get your psychology and head space around food sorted there are no ‘bad’ foods. Only foods that are nutrient dense (eat mostly) and indulgent (eat in small amounts).

haven’t posted on here in a hot minute, but I have a lot of updates!! Update #1: I graduated, so I moved back home for the summer so this is where my pictures will be taken forever Update #2: I got a job at orangetheory as a sales associate and I start Wednesday so I’m super excited!! Update #3: I have been doing @sydneycummings_ workouts all throughout quarantine and I love them. My absolute favorite at home workouts!! Today I did a glute and abs workout and I absolutely died. Update #4: I have gained too much weight in quarantine and I’m working on losing it so I can not wait to get back to orangetheory and get back in the gym to workout, I miss it so much!! That disappointed feeling when you finish your work out of 70+ minutes only to realize your fitness tracker is dead... I’m not doing it for the number on the watch, but it is incredibly satisfying to see those rings closed. There’s a sense of accomplishment and being proud of the movement I did. There is still a win here today though despite not all of my activity being measured. I was 100% in my food parameters today! Which almost makes for a perfect week! #beannagram
